Profile
Outlive – Supporting Youth Suicide Prevention in India
Outlive is a youth suicide prevention initiative led by the Centre for Mental Health and Policy, Indian Law Society, in collaboration with Sangath and Quicksand Design Studio. The program supports young people aged 18–24 by creating safe spaces for conversations around emotional well-being, mental health, and suicide prevention. Through Outlive Chat, youth experiencing emotional distress can access confidential, chat-based support from trained responders in a non-judgmental environment.
Beyond emotional support, Outlive empowers young people through the Youth Action for Suicide Prevention (YASP) Fellowship, encouraging leadership, advocacy, and policy engagement. The initiative also conducts public awareness campaigns that promote mental health literacy, reduce stigma, and connect young people with reliable support resources. By combining peer engagement, education, and community action, Outlive aims to build a future where every young person feels heard, supported, and empowered to seek help when needed.
