How To Start Import Export Business In India – Ponnusamy Karthik
The import and export business in India has witnessed significant growth due to globalization, eCommerce, and increasing international trade opportunities. Entrepreneurs can now reach customers worldwide by exporting quality products and importing goods that meet domestic demand. Starting an import-export business requires proper planning, market research, business registration, and compliance with government regulations.
The first step is obtaining an Import Export Code (IEC) from the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT). Businesses should also understand customs procedures, shipping methods, product classifications, international payment systems, and export documentation. Choosing the right products, identifying reliable overseas buyers and suppliers, and staying updated with trade policies are essential for long-term success.
With a clear strategy, quality products, and strong business relationships, entrepreneurs can build a profitable import-export business and expand into global markets.
